CANON, AU CANON OR ORIGINAL:
POWERS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Kitty's power allows her to phase through solid matter by shifting or separating the atoms of her body through intra-atomic spaces. She can phase through organic and inorganic matter with no damage to herself or others. When Kitty phases through an electrical system, her ability disrupts its system and shorts it out. Kitty can spread her ability to any person or object she touches, having phased a car, full of passengers, through a moving train, the X-Jet through a mountain, and a train through another oncoming train.
Though the latter was too strenuous for her and her power cut out midway, causing an explosion.
Kitty is virtually weightless when in her phasing state and can influence her movement to phase downward into the ground and move through it to emerge upward from a different spot, simulating levitation.
Kitty isn't the most athletic person, and is still a horrible driver and has gone through more than her share of stop signs.
Her culinary skills are a constant source of dismay to any who partake in it.
If Kitty tries to phase through extremely large objects or phase an extremely large object, she could run out of stamina before it is complete causing her or the object to become trapped inside the matter.
Despite her powers Kitty is still human and can die as such.
As a child Kitty suffered from claustrophobia and hates being in small places.
Phasing Limitations: Since she was unable to breathe while "inside" an object, she could only continuously phase through solid objects (as when she traveled underground) as long as she could hold her breath. Denser materials were more difficult for Kitty to phase through, sometimes causing her pain.
Kitty Pryde is upbeat, cheerful and optimistic, but she did have some naive tendencies, mainly due to having lived a sheltered life before joining the X-Men. Caring and sympathetic, she is considered virtuous in almost all respects. With the typical attitude of a valley girl, Kitty can come off as a bit of a ditz, but she has since grown into a very intelligent, open-minded, and worldly young woman.
During her early teens, Kitty began having terrible headaches, which culminated one night during a dream where she felt like she was falling, only to awake having fallen straight through her bed and bedroom floor into the basement. The next day, her parents had told her not to go to high school, while they attempted to help her through this.
Soon learning that she was indeed a mutant she joined Xavier’s School for gifted youths and made her way onto the X-Men team.
However, now that she has found herself stranded in this odd universe Kitty has learned that mutants do not exist. But not only are heroes and villains unheard off so is the human/mutant conflict. Taking this new situation in stride Kitty managed to find herself a place to live over a local bookstore in the East Village and now helps the elderly owner as a cashier and tries to keep a low profile by keeping her powers a secret.
