CANON, AU CANON OR ORIGINAL: AU Canon
CHARACTER UNIVERSE: Cindi’s canon universe is 616 but this version is from AU Earth-3145-B. A dystopian universe destroyed by a nuclear device created by that worlds Doctor Octopus. In this reality, Spider-man was Ben Parker who was the one bitten and protects those who survived the fallout that left their world an uninhabitable wasteland.
AU CANON DIFFERENCES: In her universe she was bitten by a radioactive spider created from the fallout from the explosion. Not the one that bit Peter from 616. When her powers manifested, she approached that world's Spider-man who was elderly by then and despite his strength and enhanced stamina was getting to up in years to carry on as a hero.
POWERS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Cindi has pretty much the standard package when it comes to her Spider-powers.
Silk-Sense: Much more acute than spider-sense she is more sensitive to danger and it has a wider radius.
Organic Webbing Generation: Unlike most Spiders, her webbing comes from ducts under her fingernails and are naturally occurring. Her webbing can harden over time when exposed to oxygen and she can even use it to spin clothing and even weapons, usually sharp claws at the end of her fingers.
Superhuman Tracking: She has an uncanny ability to track down anyone with Spider-powers.
Unlike her 616 counterpart this Cindi was born on the dystopian Earth created after that world's Dr. Octopus who tried to hold North America hostage with a nuclear device that accidentally ignited. After the destruction of that world, the human population had dwindled down to only a few hundred thousand survivors. One was Ben Parker, the Spider-man of that world who was now responsible for protecting what was left of humanity.
When Cindi was born, she was one of the last children to come into the world just before the fallout spread. Her parents did not survive the initial blast wave. As a teenager, she was scavenging around what was left of Oscorp and while going through the rubble she felt excruciating pain and found that she had been bitten by some sort of small creature. That night back at her refugee camp she was hit with an intense fever and was not expected to survive. The following morning against everyone’s expectation not only did she recover but she was now far stronger, faster, and had powers she could not understand. Soon a strange feeling came over her and she was drawn to the only other Spider in that world. An aging Ben Parker who was now running a hospital treating radiation sickness.
After some long convincing she managed to talk him into training her and after years of work was now a fully-fledged Spider taking on the name Silk. Ben Parker having given her the skills and his sense of morality and responsibility she worked with him to help save the people of devastated New York from a slew of radioactive monsters such as the Goblin Mutants.
One day however while swinging through the New York remnants Silk was overwhelmed by the presence of another Spider. Upon investigation she found a strange swirling portal hovering just above the ground. As she approached it with caution she felt an odd sensation as if it were calling to her. But the moment she touched it she found herself somewhere else entirely. In a New York that looked as if nothing had happened! The world was healed and clean with no fallout or mutants. But as the portal closed behind her, Silk realized this was not her world! She was now trapped on some unknown version of Earth!
But the feeling of other Spiders being present still tugged at her mind. Now she seeks to find the others and figure out a way to get back to her world and her Uncle Ben.
Cindi has a high level of intelligence and an uncanny knack when it comes to design and atheists. It could be this skill is derived from the weaver spider that bit her. She can spin clothing from her web but her knack for fashion goes beyond just the need for survival. She is curious and cunning and is fascinated with television given the fact there is no TV in her world, save for the occasional emergency broadcast.
Cindi is not impervious to pain and she can be killed like most organic beings despite the added resilience from her Spider powers. High pitched noises can mess with her Silk Sense causing confusion and disorientation. She also has a weak stomach when it comes to blood and needles.
