Cindi blinked at him for a moment before she broke out into laughter! He was so awkward it was almost..cute in a way.. Holding up her hands she waved them slightly.
“Okay okay, I’m sorry it was just a joke. I didn’t mean anything by it. And uh, I do know what pizza is. It was sort of a Cloud Atlas reference. One of the few movies I got to see growing up and weirder than hell…” Folding her arms she smiled at him shaking her head slightly.
“Ready when you are Red.” As Kaine twipped off the building Cindi pulled her mask back up and held out her hand as a line of webbing shot across the street hitting a nearby billboard! Jumping from the building she followed Kaine and took in the sights along the way. It was just like Uncle ben described! Big, bright, and noisy, she could get used to this. Just not too used to it, she still had to get home. This world was far different than hers, like a blast from the past. In her dimension, this place is nothing but irradiated ruins full of Goblin mutants.
The buildings were nothing but framework covered in dirt and vines after years of neglect. Now it looked all brand new, well sort of brand new, this world has its share of litter and pollution. But she will take a few empty coffee cups over green monsters trying to eat your intestines any day..
Sher followed him for a few blocks jumping from roof to roof before catching up to him and even passing him! “A little too slow there Red?” She smirked.

“Oh," Kaine said as he felt embarrassed. His face turned a little bit red as he was glad to see it under the mask. "I guess I uh, should admit, I lived a sheltered life for a long time… Growing up in a lab. I would be lucky to see the city streets above you. Let alone have a chance to try and interact with the city that is above you, too.” Kaine admitted he knew there was still a lot to learn himself as he never had a chance to experience things like music, movies, or even go to carnivals. All of such, Kaine would be able to understand at some point or another. If it had not been for Peter, opening up his eyes. Kaine might still be living with the Jackal. Last he heard, the guy had blown up his lab, and he might have still been in it.
“Uh, you are ahead of me. I was ordering our pizza doing a bit of multitasking on it.” Kaine admitted. “We are almost there a little bit longer. It is a big red brick building with a sign on the roof.” He said as he began to make his way there before landing on the roof. He had not had that much fun web-slinging since who knows how long as he was panting just a little bit but nothing too terrible. He would be able to gain his breath back in no time. "Uh, maybe we can watch that movie? I've never seen it before. Probably only seen a handful of movies." Kaine admitted.
“My apartment is on the seventh floor, and we can climb in. I left a window unlocked, in case I ever get in that way,” Kaine said as he began to climb down, hoping that the other humans were not home or were not paying attention to their windows. He opened it feeling around with his hands and stumbled in landing on his back. “And you beat me on the roof. I’m not upset really, that had been a lot of fun web-slinging since I had done it like that in a while.”
“Well, this is home sweet home… It’s more of a dump, as I call it.” He said knowing the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, and the roof leaked when it rained badly. He knew he could probably do a whole lot better than that. However, with money being a problem, he could not afford all that. He took his mask off seeing he was safe now. The messy brown hair had come back as he quickly brushed it back into it in place as he realized Kaine had left it somewhat a mess before heading out the last time he had been there. Sometimes he had to lock the place up while Kaine was with Otto as the lab was sort of like a second home there. He could already tell that Cindi had beaten him to the roof. “I also should add I can not see in my right eye; my vision is gone for a long time now… Everything looks hazy and misty, and it should not be like that.” Kaine said with a sigh, and he was ashamed of his weakness. Not to mention people could sneak up on him if it were not because of his spidey sense.
Cindi landed on the roof and waited for Kaine to catch up. As he landed she tilted her head a little at his panting.
“You seem a bit out of shape there.” She smirked. “You need to get out and do some more web-swinging then. You don’t want to end up the first Spider couch potato right?” She said with a slight laugh. “Sure if you knew where to get a copy of the movie somewhere. Some guy named Tom Hanks is in it. But I gotta say, I come from a dystopian future and no one there talks like that.” As Kaine made his way down to the unlocked window she blinked seeing him fall inside! “Kaine!?” Landing on the window sill and slid inside landing just behind him before standing up.
“Are you ok?” Looking around his apartment Cindi noticed it was old, and worn and peeling in places, and sort of a mess. But hey, she lived in a tent in a refugee camp outside of an irradiated wasteland full of green mutants.
“Heh. The place looks great..” Pulling her mask down she smiled. “I wanted to say thanks. Not many people would take in a stranger, no matter what they have in common. At least not where I am from. In my camp it's pretty much everyone for themselves.” She glanced down. “Except for Ben. He seems to care for everyone no matter who they are. Without him I probably would have died a long time ago…” Looking up at him as he told her about his eye she squinted and walked closer to him. Reaching up she placed a hand on his face turning it slightly. She could see one of his eyes had a haze over it.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Is there some way to fix it?” She asked before sliding her hand away from his face.

“Couch potato? I work out a lot to try and keep up with the bad guys.” Kaine admitted. “And swim a lot too, and I enjoy that sport at least,” Kaine said as he knew that he had once rescued Otto from drowning after the Savage Lands adventure. He very well could’ve let the man drown, and be the end of it. But that nagging side of Peter had once told him not to do it… As odd as it sounded, he called him a friend. And now he was considering Cindi a friend the two had both come from hard lives. But they had fallen into this world. Had it been fate? He had no idea to be honest.
“I’m alright, it just wasn’t exactly a graceful landing into the apartment, and that was all,” Kaine admitted as he had flopped in.
“Tom Hanks? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of him. Then again, I don’t follow celebrities these days.” Kaine admitted as he hadn’t kept up with the other celebrities. Heck, there might even be one in this dimension. “You can stay as long as you want, Cindi. It can be pretty lonely here at times, so I’d welcome your company even if you are a stranger. We already have one thing in common having spider powers.” Kaine admitted as he went and began to clean up a few things. Papers were strewn on the desk, and the bed wasn’t made, and some pots and pans were still out.
Kaine flinched a little bit as he felt her hand on his face, but he managed to calm down a little bit as he realized that she was just looking at his injured eye. No thanks to his cellular degeneration. “I doubt it, I tried in my world I tried a few times. They all said the same thing: Couldn’t be fixed since the muscle tissue is damaged and probably nerves too, because of my cellular degeneration. The spidey sense helps, but it can only do so much in detecting danger in a blind spot.” Kaine said with a sigh knowing his healing factor had tried to fix it, but it was more like he adapted without it. He was certain that Otto’s healing tank in the lab wouldn’t fix it either. It would be a miracle if it did get fixed. Kaine knew under that haze from his eye was another brown one but he had lost it years ago.
“Your Ben sounds like a kind guy though looking out for everyone else before he sets his own needs,” Kaine said as he agreed with that one. “I’ve struggled a lot with my path.” The young spider admitted. He was sure his path of being a shadow of someone else and a clone had done that.
Cindi looked around the place as she raised a brow. It looked..sort of how she expected a young guy's apartment to look. It was messy, and it looked both lived in and abandoned at the same time. It wasn’t the best shape but then again, the building was sort of slummy to begin with. Hmm, she would have to do something about that. For both her sake and his as she leaned over and picked up what used to be a slice of pizza.
“I see you ordered ahead…” She smirked before dropping it into a nearby trash bin. “Well, I can’t thank you enough for letting me crash here. I really didn’t want to sleep on a wet rooftop or find a shelter.” She sighed. “I wish I had my backpack. It had all my stuff in it and my sleeping bag.” Cindi then looked in the small pockets of her suit she signed pulling out a handful of worn bills.
“Not a lot of cash, and I’m sure the numbers are all weird given this isn’t the same world. But thankfully no one really looks that close…” Taking a seat on a nearby cough she smirked as it squeaked loudly.
“I'll have to find some sort of job. I doubt superheroes get any sort of payment in a world where there are none.” Cindi nodded about Ben.
“Yeah, Ben was a good man..is a good man. I’m sure he'd be mad at me right now.” She sighed before flopping back on the couch.
“Getting stuck in another world is way past the city limits…I am so much dredged when I get home…” Knotting her eyebrows she sat up and reached behind her pulling a stray sock out of the seat cushion and winched slightly. “Uhhh…”

“Oh yeah, sorry about the mess. I didn’t know I was having any guests over really,” Kaine confessed as he saw the pizza. He began to pick up items across the floor that was out of place and put them back in their correct area, like shoes or even piles of clothes. It was perhaps true that he was so unorganized that’d be another trait related to Peter. His room back at the hellicarrier had been no different it had been a mess. Well juggling a job on SHIELD and even at Aunt May’s house had been a disaster for that matter, and it made sense to Kaine that he had inherited that along with his brother’s bad luck. “You’re welcome, Cindi. I didn’t want another person living on the streets again. The first few nights I was here… that was over a year ago already I slept a few nights on the streets. And frankly, I don’t want to do that again. I’d rather have a roof over my head.” Kaine admitted.
“I doubt anyone would want to hire me for a job. A former super-villain and is a copy of someone else. That’s why I never started looking for one. It just seems wrong in all the wrong places. I don't even really have any education, besides my creator's home schooling. Of course I can read and write.” Kaine said with a sigh knowing that would probably be worse news adding to his bad wrap sheet. He was also beating himself up. He probably was close to Peter's intelligence in IQ as he had helped his template build new technology and even inventions. Last he heard that Peter was helping set up his own Parker Corporations in New York City. That didn't seem to exist here. "If anything, I was getting wanted guys off the street that the police were after. Small, easy jobs." Kaine said. He knew he probably wasn’t superhero material, and he was denying it.
He listened as Cindi mentioned about Ben, and he sounded like a nice guy, and if anything, he hoped to help them get back together at some point. Even if it was something small like letting her stay at the apartment. “Hey, it is not your fault, falling through the portal. I am glad nothing happened to you.” Kaine said. The clone was hoping that Ben would understand. “Who knows, I am sure he is more worried about you than being mad. I know my version of Spider-Man would be.” Kaine said with a soft nod.
He did not like it, as he felt like he was Peter’s shadow. “One thing that has always bothered me… Is being a clone I’m the clone of Spider-Man in my world. I always feel like his shadow, and he took all the credit to the jobs that we did. For once I'd like to be my own person.” He said with a sigh. That was when he noticed that the sock in Cindi’s hand. His cheeks turned bright red from embarrassment, and it was almost the same color as his suit. “Uh, sorry about that. I can toss that into the laundry bin.” He said as he went to toss it in the laundry bin and quickly changed into normal clothing. Kaine wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. His Scarlet Spider suit was tucked away and out of sight. That was when the doorbell ringed, as the pizza had arrived at the doorstep. “One good thing is our pizza is here,” Kaine said as he went to go retrieve it as he was starving. Kaine opened up the door unlocking it as the delivery man was gone. However, the smell of pizza already wafted through the air as it had just been cooked. He then brought it over and set it on the table. "Hey, Cindi, let's eat while it's still hot." He said putting it on the small table that could fit three.
