With these portals and infinity stones coming in, and opening up all over the place, it was a wonder at all that Kaine had wanted to go back home. This city and dimension had been so messed up, and Kaine could not leave any time soon. Lately, a mysterious signal had been put out for some web warriors to come together, not that he had officially wanted to meet them. Not to mention the rise of some heroes and villains had been concerning enough as is. Kaine had no desire to meet them or be on the team. He was reluctant, and he had met a few already.
Mostly because of his murderous past. His hate for Spider-Man and the other web warriors. Yet he remembered his first encounter with Cindi he nearly fell head over heels for that woman. But he also kept his distance he did not want to hurt anybody. At times like this, Kaine had wished he was normal or left alone. But no, he got smacked right into a world that needed all the help that it could get. Kaine had a bad reputation, yes, but he had been trying to redeem himself.
And times like this, and he realized his vigilante or evil side could perhaps be forgotten and be reborn a hero that sounded like a good idea.
Cops had already surrounded the place where violence had appeared in parts of the New York City district. Taking a chance, he leapt from one building seeing one of the men down below as they had a large-looking gun that looked like it could take out a whole piece of a building. That looked fierce as it. Was it a bazooka? Probably. Without rising suspicion, he came down and struck the man with his stinger slashing him across the chest and webbing him knowing that was going to hurt a lot.
“Times like these, I wish things were not as complicated. But you guys left me no choice,” Kaine said. He moved on to the next target except, he underestimated this one. His spidey sense was starting to go crazy as it appeared that portals were opening up here. The Brooklyn Bridge was not that far away as that too had been looking funny twisting and turning, almost eating in on itself. Something the men were doing here had caused it to act this way. Kaine just hoped that the others would come in time.
Until that was. He felt his spidey sense go off, again, as he quickly dodged. “Where are they? Am I fighting these idiots myself!? They are ten minutes late.” Kaine said and threw a stinger at one of the nearby men, and his fist. Annoyance and anger filling him as the night went on. As he heard it scrape metal against his arm. He was almost certain that a blow broke his arm. “Dammit!” He said holding it as the guy was covered in metal from head to toe. He had no idea who these guys were working for, but it had something to do with the Brooklyn Bridge. It did not look like a couple of gaping portals had opened. Why did it look like swiss cheese? That was new. Kaine also saw some men wearing green uniforms as they were coming out of the portals. He was certain they belonged to Hydra as they had the badge on their uniform. Geez, did they ever get a break? Apparently not.
Kaine felt the man’s hand around his neck before he prepared for a powerful kick, and it sent him flying before he coughed up a bit. Kaine had no choice but to cough as he felt his arm slowly trying to repair itself as all he could do was nurse it. That was when he saw the bridge again. "I am pretty sure that is not normal either," Kaine said, seeing the bridge. Yeah, tonight was going to be one of those long nights of not getting any sleep. Otto may want to see this too...
Gerry didn’t know what was happening. One moment he had been hurrying towards the Amazing Eight’s headquarters, eager to show off his new costume as well as his new name and the next...Well, it was hard to describe exactly what was going on.
The young spider hero had found himself thrown through a portal on his last swing, unable to stop his momentum before he was dragged through and having no chance to call for backup. Seconds later, he was filled with weightlessness, trying to get his bearings of where he was and make sense of his surroundings. It felt like the time Spider-Gwen had approached them, seeking their aid against the forces of S.I.L.K but this time he was alone and could only prepare for what was to come. Gerry managed to straighten his body into a steep dive, his symbiote covering his body to better handle whatever impact he might deal with or at least soften the blow as he fell like a bullet through the portal. But, no sooner had he been snagged from his reality did it seem he had spotted buildings at the end, noting the Brooklyn Bridge right away as he was spat out the other end at last.
“Alright Gerry, let’s make this landing.” He told himself, extending some tendrils to form a membrane-like pair of glider wings to catch some air and slow his speed somewhat. Though just as he angled himself to head towards one of the highest points of the bridge, Gerry’s four red eyes focused on brief sparks and the sound of gunfire going off. Was there a showdown going on? He had barely left the portal and there was already trouble? New York City might as well have been a magnet for trouble regardless of where one went in the universe. It didn’t appear to be the typical supervillains either from this distance, rather it appeared to be a turf war given the numbers and the amount of police drawn to the area. So much for going for that easy landing.
Instead, Gerry tilted his body to steer from the bridge and move closer towards the Brooklyn side, watching the events unfold below. But as he did he noticed something, or rather someone, among all the activity. There, a red and black suit flashed by several times, moving with the agility he had only seen with certain individuals, namely spider heroes like himself. It wasn’t until he was just feet above the scene did he get a confirmation it was indeed a spider hero, but no one he was exactly familiar with. And it looked like he was doing well enough, but the numbers were large and eventually the older spider would be overwhelmed by sheer numbers alone. ‘Time for Shadow Spider to make his grand debut!’ He thought with excitement, retracting the membrane wings against his back to allow himself to drop into the fray with a air kick to one of the goons while the others seemed caught off guard by his sudden appearance . “One hundred guys to one spider? Come on folks, hardly seems fair play don’t you think?” Gerry pointed out sarcastically, extending several tendrils to knock some of the gunmen back, his voice having a slightly deeper echo to it in his black and green symbiote form.
Glancing over his shoulder as he blocked an attempted strike with a crowbar, Gerry quickly gave Scarlet Spider a thumbs up, “Don’t worry! I got your back bro!” He assured him, punching the goon that attempted another swing with his crowbar.
Cindi could see the smoke coming from blocks away as she headed towards it! Landing on a nearby building she could see and now hear the commotion near the bridge itself. Those odd portals were opening and armed men were emerging! The same sort of portal that dragged her to this dimension only far bigger and they seemed very unstable!
“What am I looking at?” She asked herself before jumping off the building! After a turn in the air, she held her hand out and thwiped a line to the next building swinging down to the battle! Landing on the nearest overturned car she looked over at Kaine and ..a new Spider?
“Woah! So, is this a private party, and who is the new kid?” Cindi asked as she held her hands up and cocooned a thug running right for her as he fell over with a soft thud! So another Spider has shown up in this world? This was beginning to be a very weird experience.
Ben always told her that she was the only Spider left. Now Kaine tells her there may be dozens here on this world and more seem to be showing up all the time. But if she was bit by accident by some random spider did that mean they all did? Do the same accidents keep happening over and over no matter what, or is it even an accident at all?
“Who are these guys anyway and why do they have all those little skull symbols? Are they from one of those dimensions you were telling me about?” She asked as he jumped into the fray before kicking one of the armed men into the side of a nearby truck!
“So Kaine. Good to see ya again. It’s been a while since we talked.” She said as she backflipped and landed next to him and yelped a bit seeing his jacked-up arm! “Oooo..” She winced. “That looks painful! Here I got this…” Holding his arm close to his chest she held her hand out and spun him a nice sling around his arm and shoulder. “That should keep it in place till it heals!”

Ring! Ring! Ring! The Alarm was blaring and someone had already slept in late. Like father like daughter, the Parker Bad luck struck again, “I’m late! I’m late!” A voice shouted down the street as May had already been late for one of her school classes in one of the nearby colleges. She had grabbed her books and other necessary items like a phone, laptop, and phone before turning off her alarm. That was when she looked down at her phone. She gasped wondering what was going on, her news feed blowing upon it as she was a long way from what was happening in another part of New York City, as the news feed blared and people were reporting in on it.
“Breaking News: Strange sightings have been reported around Brooklyn Bridge, we haven’t been able to identify the people who are in it yet, but they have been known to have to cause havoc and should be strictly avoided at this time. Some superhero spiders are showing up on the team who are thwarting the enemies so far. We will keep you updated as this story continues.” The woman reporter said as they were giving very fuzzy spots of what looked like a man in red and black no doubt Scarlet Spider, then some other kid appeared on the screen who looked like he had just fallen out of the portal himself. Then another woman with a web-like silk costume appeared on the scene.
“I guess school is going to have to wait. I have more important things to worry about. This wasn’t how my day was going to go at all.” May said. She quickly suited up. Before heading to one of the nearby windows before jumping off of it, and web-slinging towards one of the buildings. Using all of her efforts, the young Spider-Woman was eager to jump into the fray. She was still young and all, but she had a lot to learn and try to prove how much of a hero she was towards her father, Peter the first Spider-Man.
After about 15 minutes of web-slinging, she was breathing a bit harder, but she had made it towards the Brooklyn Bridge. The humans had been evacuated by it, and police had blocked the area. “Fashionably late it seems.” She said as she went down and webbed up one of the hydra fools before they got away, and swinging him up on the cable, tying him there to be arrested by the police. “Hey, why don’t you go pick on someone else other than helpless civilians, instead of falling headfirst into a dimension?” May asked as she was angry.
That was when she saw the other three spiders, including a handsome-looking young man fighting that had just fallen through a portal. “I don’t know who you guys are but look like you could use some help,” May said before throwing a powerful punch. “Plus, you all have spider-powers, so can’t be that bad.” She had assumed that. Then she threw another kick towards one of the other guys before knocking the both of them out flat. “The name is Spider-Woman, by the way.” She said, wondering how this would go in the end. She couldn’t stand idly by and watch May always had her father’s eagerness, maybe too much talk, and quips. This was going to be a very long day for all of these spiders as they joined the scene.

Today had started out as any other lately.
With living within Hell’s Kitchen, there was also some sort of chaos going on around the block or a few streets down. Sarah has generally gotten use to the sounds enough she slept decently well, and very few dared to overstep near her place when she had made her mark swiftly in the area to keep others from snooping at her loft above what use to be some kind of store. Killing the previous owner and lying on the paperwork had gotten her a pretty sweet pad she could make use of in her time in this dimension. That morning though, she was snoozing the morning away, lulled to sleep by the present quietness in the turf wars that often took place. Until the sudden loud alert from her phone startled her awake, causing her head to shoot up groggily.
“Ugh, what is it now?” She grumbled sleepily, snagging her phone and peering at the screen through half-lidded eyes. On it she saw a notification from her News App, becoming alert immediately when she saw the live news feed regarding unstable portals, as well as occasional views of a showdown going on. She recognized two of the spiders immediately, one was Scarlet Spider whom she had met when first falling through in the same area, and the other had a vague similarity to May Parker from her reality. What the hell was going on around the bridge?
Curious, Sarah quickly got up and ready, donning her own costume while snagging her bag full of spare clothes and was soon off from her apartment. It took a bit of time but she eventually found herself at the Brooklyn Bridge, pausing on a lamp post to take in the situation. These portals seemed deliberate, as if someone had been making them but the process was extremely unstable. Yet, it seemed some had managed to get through and were causing a commotion that was rather unnecessary. “So much for my day off.” She sighed, extending the wings of her Spider Glider on her back and pushing off, covering the distance faster to join the other four spiders and throwing herself into a flip as the wings retracted and extending her six spider legs to stab through six of the HYDRA agents who gave pained yells before they were unceremoniously slammed to the ground as Sarah landed a few feet away from the rest.
“Hey heroes, how about less bantering, more ending some HYDRA dweebs.” She called towards them, punching another agent close to her, his mask shattering followed by a sickening crunch of bones breaking in his nose. “Oh, and maybe use a little more force, being lenient with these guys won’t be nearly as effective.” She added.

As the battle took place below a lone figure stood perched high on one of the towers of the bridge. A long leather trenchcoat blew in the breeze as two pincer-like appendages gripped the frame. Unbelieving what he was seeing. HYDRA of all fanatical groups had to be flooding out of one of the same portals that brought him here. He had dealt with HYDRA before, or more to the point Zola. “
But this was indeed odd, usually, these portals open at random, or at least it seemed random bringing in individual beings from other dimensions. But he found it hard to believe one would open by chance letting in an army poised and set to invade. There had to be some sort of intelligence behind this. Perhaps the HYDRA from that universe opened a rift from their side with the intent to conquer.
Well…no one is going to take over this world but Otto Octavius!
Looking down at the fray he could already see a few brightly colored Spiders swinging around down there. While a valiant effort taking down a handful of soldiers one at a time seemed like tilting at windmills to him. Thankfully he had something to even the odds and even shift them in his favor! The upper right actuator coiled up behind him, attached to it was the same weapon-like device he had been working on ever since his little jungle excursion. The weapon charged up emitting a bright blue light coming from the Space Stone fragment within!
Taking a step off the frame he descended the bridge as his free actuators clamored down the side and ended up just above the ensuing battle! There he spotted a Spider in mostly red and black!
“Kaine! Stop messing around with the cannon fodder! I need your assistance!” Otto yelled at his somewhat annoying ally!
“Gather your forces! We need to push this army back towards the portal!” He yelled! Honestly, trying to lead Spiders is like herding cats!

He had been running on adrenaline. The pain in his harm had been nothing but a throb, and a nuisance. As Cindi had wrapped it up with some webbing. “Thank you," Kaine said. "I hardly feel it now been running on too much adrenaline. My healing factor should fix it. It feels like a bad sprain.” Kaine said, trying to assure her he was alright in the end. And he felt himself blush just a tiny bit under the mask. His cheeks turned as red as his costume. Thankfully for his sake, no one could see it.
He had survived so many things in the past, and he had no idea if he was going to bring some young super-powered spiders to their deaths. Some of which he just barely knew. The consciousness of leading them to their deaths was all on his mind. Kaine would not be able to handle that. His other side, and when he had been in his universe, would not have cared. They could have all been stomped flat. But no, he was not like that now. He had seen there was some good here. “If only Peter was here, he would know what to do. He always knew what to do.” Kaine thought to himself. “I am not Spider-Man never have been,” Kaine said, having the emotional turmoil of not wanting to be a hero and a leader. It had just been that something he did not want to deal with.
Kaine also barely knew anything about being a leader, and he had watched Peter do it so many times it almost became second hand. And yet him a monster? No, he knew what the other outcome was not good, let Hydra walk into New York City and take over the area. He was not about to allow that to happen. He only half trusted Otto having not told him once about the weird girl about Harley. Who was to say he'd keep other secrets behind his back. He was also certain these other spiders didn't trust him either. They had a big problem.
The red spider looked up; a bit surprised to see Otto there. He climbed up onto one of the nearby poles to communicate to the other spiders. They had formed a wall as hydra soldiers were starting to come into the area. “Darn it, Otto! I am no leader!” Kaine said as he was about to yell something unkind towards the other man. But he thought better of it as he had at least owed the man some decency for fixing him earlier. If they were going to have to stop Hydra they had to first get to the portals if any more came in. Kaine had lost count of how many people were there that had come through. It was clear Hydra was starting to bring an army in.
He climbed up to meet Doctor at a better angle. He had to speak to him now if not they might not have a chance to do it later. “Otto is your machine that you were working on earlier ready? The one shard that we took from the Jungle. If we can get close enough… I have an idea but it’s going to be risky you are all putting their own lives in danger to save the city. It will also stop Hydra from getting any more soldiers than we can take them out one by one. You can come with us.” Kaine said knowing this was not what he was going in for as he saw other heroes like Silk the lady that he had cared about so much, then Shadow Spider, Spider-Woman, White Widow, “Spider-Woman, new guy Spider, and White Widow. Go to the far side of where the portals are and we will shut them down. Silk and I will go to the other side and meet up in the middle. Something tells me we can shut these portals down. And thus, round up the rest of the Hydra idiots. We will meet in the middle.” Kaine said as he swung down to go ahead and kick one of the guys in the face before heading towards one of the ropes, and also left a nice stab of a stinger towards them, and cuts all over him.
Gerry couldn’t quite believe what he had gotten himself into.
Not only was HYDRA up to its usual tricks even in this world, but so too were heroes, and seemingly other villains, had begun to gather. But upon closer inspection he realized all those that had shown up discounting Ock were spider themed individuals, mostly friendly. His eyes narrowed slightly towards White Widow in his symbiote form as she mercilessly killed six agents before attacking some others. If he hadn’t seen such a thing he would have sworn she was Gwen given how similar their suits were. But no Gwen Stacy, or any Stacy for that matter, he knew would have immediately resorted to murder when entering the fray. ‘Maybe Ock isn’t the one we’ll have to watch.’ He thought before his attention turned towards what Otto and Kaine were up to.
So, Otto was actually trying to help them? That was...surprising. He always seemed to loath the spider heroes, and to see a drastically different change made him wonder if Otto had a bit of a compromising side to him, somewhere, deep, deep down. But his attention was broken as a few lasers struck his form, making him hiss slightly and return to the battle until Kaine called them all to arms, pressing for them to force the HYDRA agents back.
Seemed easier said than done with such an invading force.
“Gonna need to slim down a bit.” His malleable form seemed to melt off his body, returning within his body for a later time and feeling the faint tug of tiredness pulling at his body already. But, not enough he couldn’t keep fighting. “Hey Spider-Woman! Me and you, come on!” Gerry didn’t hesitate to pair off with May, feeling a sense of unease with the older female spider with such an eerily similar costume to one of his mentors. Not that she seemed to mind as she shrugged and remarked “You kiddies have fun on your play date!” before scurrying off to another part of the area. Shaking his head, Gerry fired webbing from his wrist, swinging over the tops of the HYDRA goons and using the momentum to catapult himself some distance as his feet and hands sparked with bio-electricity. “This might be a shock to you dimwits, but this universe doesn’t need your kind of ruling.” He called, kicking and punching a few, shocking and paralyzing them as he went.
Hearing a yell from above Cindi looked up and couldn’t believe it! Doctor Octopus was ..helping them? The same lunatic that turned her world into a radioactive wasteland was now trying to help. She didn’t like this, didn’t like it at all! He could be behind it all for all she knew!
“Kaine,” Cindi said placing a hand on his shoulder. “Are you sure we can trust him? He’s a villain! And not just like the one from my world! I’ve been asking around. He is bad in every world! It’s like..an inherited thing! I know you said he reformed on yours but that could be a fluke.” Taking his good hand, she seemed to plead with her eyes.
“I'll help you take care of these HYDRA guys but I'll never forgive him! Any version of him. Do yourself a favor and never turn your back on …that…” She said giving Otto an angry hateful stare. Holding her hand up she thwiped a line to the nearest light pole and swung upward! Only to come down on a handful of armed soldiers! She may hate Octavius but he was right about one thing! If he could close the portals, they needed to push the majority of them back!
After knocking a handful of masked soldiers back towards the shimmering portal Silk landed in front of them and spun in place kicking two of them into the portal as they vanished into the rippling shimmering light! Standing up she smirked but her smile soon faded as she could see something moving on just the other side of the portal.
“..Oh my god…” Taking a few steps back the turret of a massive tank-like machine had begun to emerge from the other side as it rolled gigantic treads onto the surface of the bridge! On the front of the machine was a large red emblem of a skull surrounded by tentacles.
“Uh, guys. I think we got a problem!” As she yelled the turret aimed down toward the other Spiders as it began to charge!

Just about every spider on the team had a reason to hate Doc Ock and probably had a thousand more not to trust him. The animosity, annoyance, and reluctance with working with a villain had been there. May did not need a spidey sense to see that. Well, there was the old saying, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Certainly, that was the case here? May was wondering if at least, holding a minor truce with Ock, might be helpful. "I probably have a couple of hundred reasons to hate Ock too. But I think he is onto something. We could work together and set our differences aside for now. Just this once." May said. She wondered if anyone would listen, and she doubted it. May remembered the stories about Peter how he had taken on Ock many times. The one in her dimension had been a hero time and time again. Those were big shoes to fill for her sake.
“You are right, and we can get going towards the other side of the bridge and meet halfway. Something along the lines of divide and conquer.” She said, liking the idea a whole lot. She used her webbing to swing between cable and cable as they were making their way across the bridge. “I will listen to different dimension uncles. And right behind you bug boy. And what is your code name anyways? Mine is kind of obvious...” She asked Gerry, not having a reason not to. May had already met her uncle Kaine at least once or twice, and he seemed just as scruffy, and grumpy from what she remembered as she followed after White Widow, Shadow Spider, and on occasions smashing a couple of heads and knocking them out. May was not as violent as White Widow, holding onto her ideals, like her father, not wanting to hurt them. For all she knew, some of these hydra goons might have just been as innocent. But she had only hung onto her father’s beliefs.
As she hung onto the Brooklyn bridge on some of the cables, they were about halfway when she noticed that the large tank appeared out of the portal. May had never dealt with a tank before. It was coming as a big surprise. The bridge buckled under the new weight as she felt it sway underneath her as she readjusted herself. Kaine seemed very reluctant to be the spider leader. She understood why for that part, and they seemed to have no plan. Nothing other than meeting up at the portals.
“Uh does anyone know how to stop a tank? They will topple the Brooklyn Bridge over.” May asked. She was with some heavy amount of concern. Did they have an EMP? Blow it up? Fling it out of the sky? All of these seemed like dangerous ideas, but she was not going to stand around and do anything. She was Spider-Woman, after all, as she stuck close to Gerry and Sarah. For some reason, she wondered if they had to keep an eye on other teammates. As they seemed to be enjoying this for fun, cracking heads together, on the ancient concrete of the bridge. If it is anything like the one in my time, it is a historic site, that needs to be preserved. Not to mention all the people that were on it.
“We could clog the weapon firing up with webbing watch it explodes, but even that is risky,” May said not wanting to give up like Ben Riley or her father. They just had to have some form of a plan, and the topic of staying on course with closing the portals sounded like the best option she had heard all day. "We are almost at the other end of the portals. I think if we have any chance of a victory we will have to close those first." May said. She was not even sure how many there were. There appeared to be many portals up. If they could open, then surely they could close. Just when May thought the Web Warriors thought they didn't have another reason to hate Hydra anymore. This one was a big one.

Ugh, why was she bothering to help them?
Sarah must have been out of her mind to be there, taking orders from Scarlet Spider and cooperating with a Parker, much less full-fledged heroes. She herself was far from any hero, more of an anti-hero really. Part of her screamed to leave the battle, let the goody-goody spiders and Otto handle the situation. After all, what did she care if they became casualties? What did their lives mean to her? Realistically, she really didn’t care about the other spiders only her own survival. And perhaps that other half winning over of sticking around was what drove her, self-preservation at its finest. If HYDRA of all organizations won then she would definitely be in for a world of trouble further in the future. So, she swallowed her pride and decided to deal with the present situation.
Like the other spiders, she had separated to handle forcing their agents back through the portals. Granted, some of them weren’t going home alive as Sarah resorted to using her makeshift claws and her additional spider legs, better maneuvering around the masses and exterminating larger groups. At other times she formed her psionic webs and wrapped them up, throwing them clean through the portal back where they belonged. “Whew, now this is a work out.” She muttered to herself, wiping her brow as she seemed indifferent to Otto’s presence compared to the rest. He was hardly anyone she was concerned about. In her reality he was like other villains and had met his match many a times, and she personally could care less as she moved further and further along the bridge, remaining low while Shadow Spider and Spider-Woman took the higher ground.
Cindi’s warning however caused the blind to whip around, feeling the continuous vibrations of the tank treads as it emerged through the portal. “Shadow Spider, get that tank!” In this moment, Sarah had notes of the spiders present his electrical abilities seemed the only way of combatting the tank. “Spider-Woman, cover Otto and Kaine, and you get your butt moving!” Using a psi-web line, Sarah pulled herself towards Cindi, swinging by with an outstretched arm and grabbing her fellow spider out of the way of the tank and bringing her up on one the steel cable supports. “We got to stay moving, standing there with your eyes wide like a deer in head lights will get you killed.” She somewhat scolded. She hated dishing out orders, but they could handle the tank while Otto and Kaine worked on getting the portals closed.

Otto stood above the battlefield as the arm equipped with the portal gun aimed at the nearest spiraling portal! They had to get as many of these HYDRA invaders back into it before he closes the rift!
“Spider-woman! The group nearest the rift! Knock them into it and I shall seal it with my device!” Getting into the fray himself his actuators let go of the frame and as he fell! The arms crushing a car to break his fall the three free actuators lashed out in all directions knocking HYDRA soldiers back through the portal!
“We need to push them back! All the rifts must be closed!” The portal gun charged glowing a bright blue light.
“Clear the rift!” The weapon fired hitting the center of the portal as the spinning vortex began to change color to a dark blue! Spinning in the other direction a massive vortex of wind began to draw whatever was near it back inside!
“Now since this is the first test of this device I feel I must warn all of you! There is a slight chance the event horizon will collapse resulting in a black hole!” He yelled back at Spiders! “But that only happened in 13% of all the of the simulated tests!” Otto growled as the wind began to pull in the car he was next to as it flew past him and into the rift and vanished! The lower two arms gripped the bridge digging their claws in! In a sudden burst of energy, the portal abruptly closed with a loud woosh dropping anything in mid-air back to the ground! The air suddenly seemed quiet and calm as Otto nodded, his jacket and hair a complete mess from the wind..
“Well, that worked better than expected…” Looking over at the tank now half emerged he smirked a little fixing his glasses. “Now to take care of that…”
Scarlet Spider couldn’t believe that they were starting to work on this in getting things going. There seemed to be a lot of confusion with the spiders as he knew that was probably his part. The reluctance to try and be a leader had been something that still weighed heavily, but he knew that they had to close the portals. That was task number one and the thing they had to focus on. “Well, that was a relief,” Kaine said. He saw that the first portal closed. However, he saw that they had still several more to go. They were only just starting. Kaine also saw one of the nearby portals on the Brooklyn bridge. He was careful not to get close to it. At least three of the hydra soldiers were coming towards them, as Kaine’s job. Was now was reverted to protecting Otto and clearing the bridge. “You idiots ruin everything, do not you!? I will send you back into the portal where you came from!” Kaine said he was using his webbing, as he sent one of them launched back into the portal with a powerful yank as it sucked them back into it as he heard them screaming. Probably in the other dimension, and they hit the ground with loud thuds.
“Phew, we have to keep going,” Kaine said as he looked back towards Cindi and Spider-Woman as he knew that they had a chance here. Kaine was still worried about the tank and how they were going to tackle it here. But it sounded like White widow knew something about the new guy that he did not. “And we still have a tank to worry about too,” Kaine admitted with a frown under his mask. looked up seeing a beam come from Otto’s direction as the first portal closed in a large burst of light. He had lost count of how many hydra fools he had beaten up. It didn't matter though. He'd keep going and make sure that they were all gone and knocked unconscious or worse. They would be sent back into their portals before they even knew what happened.
“This one? Yes, we can. Otto and I have a temporary truce anyways.” Kaine said as he looked over towards Silk. There was a frown, as he was in a squatting position like most spiders usually take. When one of the hydra soldiers got close, he brought out his stingers again before slashing the soldier before he could get any closer. “I probably have a thousand reasons to hate him, too. In my dimension, Otto is still bad. But here he is attempting to close the portals. I suppose the enemy of my enemy is my friend. He already fixed my cellular degeneration. Or I would be dead, Cindi in fact, I would be dead in a couple of months.” Kaine said having never once revealed that to her.
“As long as Otto does his job, I will not complain too much, Cindi. However, if he attacks one of us, I will not be afraid to strike him back. That type of behavior is frowned upon here,” Kaine assured him, as he knew he had to draw the line somewhere. It was clear he was already protective of some of the Web Warriors. Kaine had every right too, as he cared about Cindi, for that matter. But they could do some talking later if they must they had to focus on the job at hand. Kaine felt his stomach churning and almost like a headache coming on as they were more than likely effects from how powerful the portals were. But he couldn't allow that to happen and stop him. Even if he had to throw up on the side of the Brooklyn Bridge. He knew better than to get too close to the portals or it'd suck them all in.
“Look, even if we all have something against Otto Octavius he’s our best shot. We don’t exactly have an inventor type bouncing about.” Gerry pointed out towards May as he followed along, busting down some of the Hydra goons and sending them through portals. Granted, his biggest foe wasn’t the mechanical armed villain presently helping them close the portals. No, when it came to his family, Taskmaster and Hydra had been the biggest challenges, which was probably why he was pushing himself to do his part.
Drawing his staves that were holstered on his back, Gerry channeled his electricity through the metallic weapons, beating down some of the masked soldiers before knocking them through the nearest portal. “Oh right! You can call me Shadow Spider! Technically, it’s a new name. I use to go by Spider-Boy until recently; updated look as well since I became an adult officially not that long ago.” He explained, twisting and jumping to avoid the energy blasts given off by Hydra’s high tech weapons. It all seemed a little too coordinated to be a coincidence, or drawn into this situation. How could anyone open so many portals? And were they intentionally connected to other dimensions or had it been by chance he was dragged here the same day? “I wonder if Hydra’s dimensional tampering unintentionally brought me here. One moment I was swinging to meet my team, the next I’m here.” The younger male theorized before his attention snapped away as he jumped back from another volley of energy blasts.
Below as White Widow directed and Cindi warned he caught sight of the cannon, sliding down one of the steel cable supports to get a better mental calculation. He could do that, totally doable...”Going down!” Flipping off the cable in a backflip, Gerry allowed himself to go into a brief free fall as he holstered his weapons once more, “As far as you go!” Firing electrical webbing, the young brunette yanked himself down as he preemptively began sending a current through the tank, which only increased as he made physical contact with the tank and grunted as he didn’t relent until the tank gave an auditable sound of shutting down.
Letting out a sigh of relief, Gerry took a brief moment to relax his body, trying to gain some strength back before he heard Otto’s warning. “Whoa!” Just as the mad scientist fired his experimental device Gerry quickly fired some webbing to pull himself clear of the portal and extending additional tendrils to stab into the concrete, anchoring himself as a powerful wind briefly kicked up before ending seconds later causing Gerry to flop down with a grunt. “Man, this is not how imagined my day going.” He muttered to himself but quickly rolled backwards as he heard some Hydra agents to his left, being right back on us feet to fire several short burst webbing to knock them back or stick them to the nearest object. “But no time to rest.”
Still, this wouldn’t end with the other many portals opened. The young Drew didn’t even bother counting the numbers present. How could Otto’s device possibly get them all? More portals could quickly follow before he got through half.
