Characters Appearing: Doc Ock, Peter Parker Location (s): Madison Square Garden Previous Thread Name: None Plot Summary: Doc searches for unstable portals to test his new Portal gun on when he runs into a new Spider who thinks he is up to no good.
Winds blew hard through the daredevil flight caused by another night of web-swinging. Shooting over some roofs, it almost felt like Spider-Man can fly...but to him, better, because it takes lots of skill to successfully perform airborne parkor, like leaping off walls to walls, maneuver around buildings, and even shoot between the legs of water towers. Yes, web-swinging is awesome...
...and it helps take his mind off of things...like what happened in the Daily Bugle when trying to sell his pictures. Let's just say that there's a lot of...changes in that building, which just raises too many questions. Questions like if this...dimensional rift that's going around isn't just spitting people like Kaine to his world, but warping reality in the city, like changing different versions of the Daily Bugle. What does that means for his version? Where did it go?
He's going to have to ask Kaine about it later, because for now, after one little patrol, he's going right home to bed. After all, his Aunt May has him under a strict curfew, and the last thing he needed from her was another stroke because of him.

Madison Square Garden. Otto never much cared for sports, when he was younger his attentions were always on his studies and applying his vast intellect to getting his doctorates and working toward his future to waste time on simple-minded games. This entire arena however was centered around such things. Billions of dollars spent on a recreation one can do on a weekend with a handful of friends….
Thankfully the stadium was empty for the time being as Otto broke into one of the skylights above the arena that was in the middle of being prepared for what seemed to be basketball. Another game he never took any interest in. However, as a child, he could remember his father obsessing with something called football, but that seemed to take place in some other stadium he supposed.
Standing on the rafters just above huge sets of speakers and audio equipment, just below him hung a giant cube used to broadcast the goings on to the entire crowd. Though it was rather a waste to go to an event only to watch it on a massive tv, but there you go. But it wasn’t the screens he cared about it was the antenna. He needed to boost the signal back at his lab to be able to pick up the incoming rifts so he can get ahead of the curve and close them before something else destructive comes through. The invading HYRDA army was proof of that. But at least that was fought back before this world fell to them…
As the two upper arms held one of the antenna arrays Otto worked to unscrew it from its housing. He only needed three of them and he was gone. A shame no one at the event tonight will hear a thing but the muffled squeaking of giant tennis shoes…
But it was for the greater good….well mostly his good but if the world benefits from it so be it.
Ah, Madison Square Garden. Peter wasn't much of the sports-guy, especially when local bully and jock, Flash Thompson, made it look bad for the school nerd that is he. But, sometimes, they do have some science expos there, which Peter used to attend. He hasn't since his uncle died, who used to take him to those expos. Those were some good times he had with his kind uncle. He always tried to support his interests, and taking him to any science event were his way to nurture his mind. As always, thinking about it just---
"What the...?" When he swung over the massive stadium, he just saw what looked like a 'daddy-legs' break in through one of the skylights. And the one person who had legs like that was supposed to be locked up in Ravencroft. At this point, they might as well just leave the backdoors open. They break out of that place anyways. At least leaving the doors unlocked would save them money on repairing those walls.
Flipping into the broken skylight, Spider-Man landed quietly on a rafter...and his suspicion was right, for it was Doc Ock. But why would he be here anyways. There's no science expo, and he doubt he's a Knicks fan, let along a sports fan. Well for some odd reason, he was taking the antennas of the titantron...
...and now that he got a look, the doc looks a little...different. A little taller and gruffer, and his mechanical arms have more parts to them. Yes, this must be an alternate version of him, which means these rifts can just spit out so many versions of his enemies, that it'll be pure chaos if there's, say, dozens of Venoms or Green Goblins. Now he really needs to find these shards. But first...
And webbing slapped onto Octavius' mechanical arm just as it would try to remove the antenna.
"So are we pirating future games here, doc?" Swinging onto the giant screens, "Tsk tsk. That's a paddlin!"

Otto was just about to remove one of the dishes when the actuator was suddenly thwipped to the framework! With the pinchers held down all he could see was webbing in his view as the arm screeched trying to pull away! This was indeed not the Octopus this Spider-Man knew. The arms were not black and carbide but titanium silver alloy and very beaten up and moved as if they had wills of their own. He was indeed older and gruffer around the edges but even if he looks slightly different the immense intelligence and even larger ego remain a constant no matter the world….
“What in blazes?!” Octavius growled looking toward the direction of the webbing! For some reason, he expected to see Silk or even one of those new Spider-brats trying to mess with him as his eyebrows arched over his glasses. However, in front of him was yet another new Spider! Only this one seemed rather skinny and by the sound of his voice, Otto put him at perhaps mid-teens?
Wonderful…another one. He was beginning to think his theory was right, someone must be bringing them here on purpose! Unless this world is just prone to infestation..
“What do you think you are doing arachnid pest!? We have a truce!” Octopus growled as the arm finally wrenched itself free from the webbing and screeched its metallic displeasure at the web-slinger!
“But perhaps you are new to this world? And you are attacking me because it seems you already have become aquatinted with me. That is the Otto Octavius from your world and you think that I am he…” He said with a slight exasperation in his voice, this will be the fourth time now he has had to explain this. Perhaps he should make up a pamphlet to hand out? Doctor Octopus: What you need to know.
“Well since you have apparently not gotten the memo. I am working with you Web-Warrior fools in trying to stop this world from descending into chaos! And since this equipment is part of that need, I must acquire it. So, if you would gracefully backflip away, that would be helpful…”
Yeah, he figured this was a different Doctor Octavius. His version is still locked up, and he'd known otherwise. Yeah, this guy looks less nerdy, and more hobo-ish. But he say they have a truce?
Right, Kaine did mention that Doc Ock had a bit of a truce, no doubt just wants to go home. Perhaps Peter could abide to that, working together in order to get these guys back to their dimension before things get worse. But no matter the reason, Ock is taking public property, and Peter can't condone that. Bad enough people think that he killed Osborn...
...which he...sort of did. An accident, but still...
...but letting Ock steal this from the Madison Square Garden will make his reputation worse, and this just isn't the way to go in his book. This will be him just looking the other way, and after his uncle's death...
...He. CAN'T. Look. The other way!
"Look, I'm all game for getting you guys back home, but stealing public property isn't the Spidey-code, and not the answer." Flipping off, he landed on one of Octavius' arms. "So how about you put down the part, and we can order something like that on Amazon?"

“This isn’t just about getting us home! This world is under attack and none seem to notice but me!” As the new Spider jumped and landed on one of his actuators the pincers opened and closed, it seemed to be growling as it let off soft metallic hisses. Otto then frowned slightly at the Spider’s response. Why is it almost every incarnation of Spider-Man has to be so inherently irritating! And then there was this so-called Spidey-code…If he spouts off that responsibility speech again Otto swore he was going to throw up in his mouth… It's not even his mantra and he knows it by heart!
“…I see. You are one of those types eh? Being a hero is more important than seeing the greater good…” Folding his arms Otto rubbed his chin. “Well, technically you are outside of the pact I have with Kaine and the Web-Warriors since you are new…” He said going over the pros and cons in his mind.
“And I haven’t had the opportunity to crush a Spider since then.” A rather sinister grin came over his face. “So by my calculations, I am overdue!” It was then the arm the Spider was perched on seemed to come to life as the pincers snapped! Letting out a loud screech the arm snapped like spring steel sending the Spider off of it! While one kept hold of the framework the other three reared back preparing to strike.
“I do not see the loss of one Spider having too much effect on the outcome of whatever is happening. And for all intense and purposes…this is going to be fun…” Octopus smirked cracking his neck slightly. “I do hope I am not too rusty when it comes to pounding you into the dirt, Arachnid!”
"Nah. I'm just not a firm believer of the 'The ends justify the means' thing. But what do you Ocks know?" he scoffed. He doesn't like the ways Punisher does things, like killing people, just to stop their criminal ways permanently, and he doesn't like Ock steal public property just to get home and prepare for...whatever war. "So-"
He was too busy bantering that he didn't react to his Spider-Sense enough to dodge the claw. But he shot a webline onto some rafters above, swinging around Octavius.
But he does have a point; he was outside this so-called pact he has with Kaine and these Web-Warriors, so he doesn't have to oblige to whatever the doc has plans for these parts...which is fine by him. He really didn't want Ock to plead to Spider-Man that he needed the parts to bring him and the other back home, because it'll make Peter feel conflicted. But if the doc wants to fight? Well...
...he just made his decision a lot easier.
"Oh wow, going through a spider-withdraw, doc? That must've been painful. But if you want a fight, then you should've asked sooner!" With that, he shot web-balls right for Octavius' face to blind him, then shot a line right at one of this robotic arms, so to pull him forward, to shoot a punch to his face.

“I must admit I do rather enjoy crushing your kind underfoot Spider-Pest! Being around literally a dozen of you does raise my ire! But our current truce puts beating them into a pulp off-limits.” Otto watched as he swung up to the rafters! “You however are outside of that parameter, much to my delight!” He could tell what was coming! The usual Spider-Man attack, gain the high ground, distract and attack. Well, this was not Otto’s first fight….
The upper right arm saw the web balls coming as it arched in front of him and blocked his face, however, the web did splatter on the actuators gunking up the mechanisms for the time being! The upper left suddenly grabbed the Spider by a foot causing his punch to fall just a bit too short! Now holding the Spider upside down as he dangled in front of him, Ock smirked.
“A word of advice Arachnid. If you want to battle Doctor Octopus, be prepared to bring your A-game….” He said as the upper right got into the Spider-s face and screeched! The arm holding him then reared back and tossed him across the rafters, aiming to ram him into something sharp and/or painful! Turning Otto looked down at the audio dish.
“I guess I will need to do this the hard way….” The lower right actuator swung over as the pincers opened as its arc welder came forward! It lit up brightly as he began to buzz through the housing to one of the antennas!
That's funny, because this isn't his first fight with a Ock, and the thing he learned from those fights is make him think he has the upper-hand. Case in point, when the doc tossed him, well, he was mostly focusing on something else rather than the counterpart of his old foe...
...and that's the antenna which when he was thrown, he fired a webline and used the force of his throw to yank the piece off before Doc Ock could grab it. He quickly then fired a line on a rafter, looping over it to avoid getting thrown to a hazard spot, and landed on it. "Sooo...a jumbotron DR antenna, huh? You know, you could get something better online. Buuut I'm guessing you must be pretty broke sucking so bad at squashing us Spider-Men."
He's pretty sure that the doc only needs one of these for whatever he plans on building, but if he's like his Octavius, then he doesn't like him making him look like a fool when he thought he was winning.

“My bank account status is none of your concer-!” Otto sneered as the equipment he was trying to steal was yanked away from him! Sneering at the young Spider his upper two actuators reared up behind him and screeched!
“Annoying pest! You do not comprehend what is going on! A few stolen parts mean nothing when compared to the big picture! You think you are stopping my nefarious plans by acting like the hero you think you are. But what you are really doing is preventing me from saving not only this world but all of them! Including your own!” He huffed as his lower actuators gripped the rafters ripping two of them apart!
“And here I thought you Spiders were supposed to be intelligent. But you can’t see past that ridiculous mantra you spout off at every turn! You think everything is as simple as good and evil, black and white. I am stealing so therefore I must be evil! When in reality I am trying to help…” He yelled as his two upper arms raised the torn iron over his head! Of course, helping anyone especially Spiders did go against his nature but any port in a storm…
“A lesson your beloved Uncle failed to teach you. So if I must beat this fact into you, so be it!” Octopus said as his arms reared back before tossing the twisted metal right at the Spider!
Swinging onto a rafter, "You know, I dunno if you called yourself the Master Planner, too, but stealing public parts, even if you're 'saving the world', isn't really a good plan."
His eyes narrowed behind his mask when he saw Ock ripping apart some rafters, even he had to leap away from one he stood on. Clearly, even if Octavius had good intentions, he didn't care how many omelets he had break, so to speak. And breaking those rafters could cause some imbalance on the ceilings. He'll probably have to webs those back if he gets the chance, or the roof could cave-in. Until then, he can easily dodge-----
And his entire world paused cold when when he mentioned...uncle. Beloved...uncle? As in...no, he could be saying...but...why would he specifically say uncle? Does he know? Does he know who he really is?! What in the hell was his Spider-Man doing when-
"AGHH!!" Because he was stunned beyond all belief, he was unable to react to his Spider-Sense when the beam slammed into him, knocking him off the rafter. From the great drop, Spider-Man smashed into some chairs in the stands, pinned under the metal beam. Any normal man would've died easily from that, with their bones shattered and broken. But Peter has some great durability, as he's been beaten nearly every time fighting supervillains, especially from Venom and the Sinister Six.
But that didn't mean this didn't hurt...because it hurt.

As Spider-man was pinned two long actuators slammed into the beams on top of him creating a few sparks as Octavius closed in. He smirked to himself as his foe was reflected in his glasses.
“Oh, I wouldn’t be so sure pest. Seems like a good plan.” Looking at the beams holding him Otto grinned. “That sounded like it was painful. Here let me help you…” The lower right actuator then came up and opened its pincers as the arc welder was exposed! Lashing downward it welded the beams around him to the chair frames in a shower of sparks and bright light! New welds were made as they glowed red before cooling as the arm was pulled away.
“There that should keep you in place for a while as I retrieve the parts I need…” Moving backward he sighed. “Such a shame. I really do want to destroy you but you're not even the Spider from my world. And I wouldn't want to deny a fellow Octavius the pleasure of grinding his own Spider into the dirt. You are not even an adult are you? Going by that irritating cracking voice of yours. Do yourself a favor child, quit while you're ahead…” Otto then scaled the wall returning to the antennas, and managed to remove two of them, just one more and he can be out of this place. Just in time too, their little battle could end up bringing the entire framework down. Ahh well, he was sure the place had insurance…
The two upper arms held the antenna parts as the lower left kept a grip on the scaffolding as the right buzzed its way into the third antenna. Just a little more and he will have everything he needs to track the portals, and soon their very source.
