Characters Appearing: Carmilla Location (s): near Star Labs Previous Thread Name: none Plot Summary: Monica is seething that the portal has stripped her of her AIM organization. Now as she plots to find a way to rob Star Labs in order to help her start from scratch, she runs into who might be related to her.
How....just...how? How did an experiment cost her so much? Here she is hiding in an abandoned motel, Monica Rappaccini, newly appointed Supreme Scientist of AIM, who was just on the breakthrough of incredible power that could bring reality to its knees...been pulled to a parallel world from her time gate? This was unacceptable! Ridiculous! Embarrassing! Ugh, if Bruce Banner ever find out about this, she'll never hear the end of it. She can't let the man she fooled and had him wrapped around her finger...know about this.
So here she was in a city that had a bit of a futuristic design to it, and they worship some silly superhero that is said to be a god. From what she read, he's an alien who's pretty much invincible. At the very least, this world had some interesting stuff, but she can't look into it and harness something like that for herself if she can't get back to AIM! All she has on her is a pistol, a holographic palette, and a drive containing every schematic of AIM robots, all her research, including the time gate, and the Cosmic Cube. But she has nothing to build from that.
But what she learned that the biggest and most advanced science facility around...Star Labs. If she can steal a fraction of their resource, it'll be a start for her to build her time gate to get back home. But alas, she's no superhuman or anything. She needs a team of criminals to do that. Where was Taskmaster or Abomination when you need them?

A bio-mechanical tail slowly swayed behind the young woman as she perched on a corner of one of the futuristic buildings of Metropolis. The city certainly was different and unique in its design, seemingly just as loud and bustling as New York yet more advanced in its design and technology. Someone like Otto likely would have been at home here with all its vast machinations and what not.
But, Carmilla had no such interest here.
In fact, the green haired woman had her eyes set on the portal activity that had been reported recently. It was frontline news these days for these “aliens” to suddenly appear, yet so often disappear without a trace to seamlessly blend in. With today’s fashion trends it was ridiculously easy for someone such as her, with her natural green hair for example, to play it off as “being in the know” with the young adults these days. Under different circumstances though, Carmilla likely would have taken time to slow down and get in some sight seeing while she was here. Not every day she got to leave New York or wasn’t being monitored so closely. Yet, this was not one of those times when she was on a tight schedule to keep track of the portals and getting readings to better counteract them. Especially since some seemed to be deliberate as of late.
“Hmm, no readings here either. Must have been such a brief spike if there’s nothing popping hot now.” She told herself, switching off her scanner before moving across the buildings once more. No use continuing to hang around one spot, not when her readings were coming off as normal levels. Maybe this was a false alarm after all and they were just missing a shard or something.
Sighing softly, Carmilla resides herself to being thorough one last time, getting another quick sweep of the city as she moved closer and closer to Star Labs.
She could hack into some of their security, but that won't be enough. Infiltrating something like this Star Labs requires, not only lots of planning, but a team...which obviously she doesn't have. And how is she going to get a team with no resources, no money, no...nothing? Just big plans, and a drive full of AIM data?
Well, let's see how she did it back in her world. She started by working with a scientist named George Tarleton, who is now MODOK. He researched a gas called Terrigen that awakens the Inhuman gene, which was discovered at the bottom of the San Fransisco bay. Tony Stark grew interested in it, hoping to turn it into a new source of fuel, funded their research, and just waited for Stark to make a mistake with the Terrigen, and pushed that mistake to escalate in a catastrophic level...and boom. They had Stark's company. Course they had to ally with his rival, Hammer Industries to bring down Stark and SHIELD, but they betrayed Hammer by revealing his criminal activities to the authorities. So they had his company as well. They practically ruled the world.
From what Monica read, Stark in this world is still the weapons tycoon. Oh that would make things easier, for he would use the Terrigen as a weapon, thus he'll create a bigger event than A-Day. Probably he'll destroy half a state with that gas. All she needs is to find some Terrigen, sell it to Stark, and wait for him to screw the pooch on it. If he's still a weapons dealer, then his business partner who hated him, Obadiah Stane, might still be alive. She's sure she can strike a deal with him to kick Stark out of his throne.
But she needs some suitable equipment to find Terrigen, which, again, she needs to get into Star Labs. But how...?
Well now...what do she spot? Some sort of hero patrolling on the rooftops? No, looks like a scorpion tail...which could be that crazed villain who's always hunting down Spider-Man. Maybe she can strike a deal with him to help her reach her goal...
...if she can catch up with him. How to get up on the roofs in time? Again, she's no superhuman.

After a few more minutes of moving across the rooftops, Carmilla soon came to a stop a few buildings away from Star Labs.
The young woman tilted her head slightly in thought, eyeing the sign indicating what the futuristic building was. A lab was usually a good source to find anomalies. Granted, she didn’t plan to get any closer than she comfortably had to be. It was nerve-wracking enough being remotely near Otto’s lab, but anything else she was quite keen on avoiding, so she would only get as close as this. Perimeter readings would still prove well enough as a preliminary to know if further action was necessary.
Moving towards the alley side of the building, Carmilla dug her clawed gloves into the brick as she swung down towards the fire escape, wrapping her tail around the railing for proper anchoring. Once safely down on the metal grates, she just climbed down with practiced ease, ignoring the need for the stairs and using the railings alone before dropping the last ten feet and onto the ground. On solid ground once more, Carmilla reached to her belt to grab put the energy scanner once more, stepping far enough towards the end of the alley closest to the lab to raise and start detecting any unusual energy readings. Of course, such a device required some adjusting to get the full range she was looking for, but once again nothing that was out of the ordinary. Seems whatever had caused the brief spike appeared to be gone now, perhaps meaning she had been a few days too late. “Really need to invest in a jet or something.” She muttered, finally lowering the device as she switched it off.
But it was then movement from the corner of her eye had the mutate reacting, extending her tail over head as her left arm glowed a sickly green in expectation of an attack.
She should've had AIM build her a suit like Iron Man. They took much of Stark Industries assets...except that Tony Stark didn't want to share his best toys. Well they took Hammer Industries, and they once stolen one of Stark's suits to create their own military grade Iron Man armor. She really should've asked why they never got around to making them. Sure, Tarleton refused to because of his hatred toward Stark, but she's in charge now.
Well she's complaining because she won't be able to go all the way to the roof to find that freak, who's clearly making way to Star Labs. By the time she gets up there, that meta-Inhuman...whatever would be gone. But to her luck, she spotted the person climbs down from the buildings. She can now catch up and see what that person is up to...hopefully not compromising her plans. When she arrived, the superhuman was female...a female...Scorpion? Yes, one of Spider-Man's villains, except female.
And of course the woman noticed her thanks to her loud boots. Strange...she looks...a little like her. Albeit maybe younger...but she also...looks familiar. Have she seen anyone like her? Well no matter, better defuse the situation before she thinks she means harm.
"Well...looks like we're both looking for a tour for Star Labs, I'm guessing...?"

The individual she faced was a bit of a shock to Carmilla. So much so, she froze for a moment as she blinked her eyes several times and had to process who she was seeing. But, it certainly was no dream or hallucination, especially when the woman spoke. No, there was no denying it, it was Monica Rappaccini in the flesh before her.
“Mother...” The shock quickly faded, replaced by wariness and a sharp tone suggesting she was not particularly thrilled to see the woman. How in the world was she here? She could have sworn she left her mother and AIM behind months ago, yet here they were face to face. And of course she would be interested in Star Labs. As Scientist Supreme no doubt she would want to expand her scientific and powerful influences even in a new dimension. Which did dawn on Carmilla then. The portals...Her mother’s arrival had to be the source of the readings surely! She doubted Monica would have gone this long without making a move, or at least make her presence known. She was rather good at that when she needed to be, placing herself in a position to be noticed and known just as much as she was good at covering her tracks.
“I have no dreams of going near that lab, nor anywhere with you.” The younger woman spoke coldly, voice calm but might as well have been ice as she slowly relaxed her stance. “Why am I not surprised you of all people would want a “tour”.” But given the present situation with the portals...
“In fact, there is something of far pressing matters.” Carmilla frowned as she crossed her arms, “Do you even know who I am? You look like my mother, but knowing how the portals have been lately, may be a chance you don’t even realize who you’re talking to. And where are your AIM cronies? Lurking around ready for your signal?”
Monica Rappaccini barely knows what she's talking about
...mother? This...mutated freak...believes her to be her mother? In what universe is she her mother? But...maybe that's the idea. The dimensional rift she accidentally caused...maybe caused a ripple across all of space, opening rifts into other worlds. Rather fascinating, now that she thought about it. The possibilities of what these new worlds could bring, like this Metropolis and Star Labs, for example.
And now that she thought about it, her clones could be her children, but they're more like decoys or replacements than children...except for one...one of her prototypes to be exact. It didn't age as fast as she attended, for she ended up as a teenager who didn't share her memories. The girl believed Monica to be her mother. It was....uncomforting, and she didn't have any use to her at the moment, so she kept her in stasis. Another clone also was a teenager, but male...but that's moot. Though she cared enough to give tat subject a name, and seeing this version before her eyes...gave her some ideas involving Inhumans. She could've experimented Inhuman DNA with her young clone if Tarleton wanted to annihilate Inhumans.
"...mother? Are you addressing to me, kid," she chuckled in amusement. Rubbing her chin with a smirk, "...that depends. Is your name...Copy-AIM001a? Or simply...is your name Carmilla?" Strange that she named her after her mother.

Those words told Carmilla everything she needed to know, even if Monica didn’t realize it. She was indifferent to what she said, much less seemed to not particularly care. The Monica she knew was always trying to bring her back to AIM, to return to the Wakers of which her and the twisted organization had created. She also didn’t address her by her birth name of Thanasee as she always did whenever they crossed paths.
No, this was not her universe’s Monica.
“Hm, I see.” Carmilla gave her own humorless chuckle, pulling down her face cover of her costume to reveal a face very much like Monica’s, but with subtle differences. “Who else would I be addressing lady? You are Monica Rappaccini are you not.” The young woman spoke, tone still ice cold yet indicated she was now analyzing just what made this woman different. She spoke to her as if they had never met, yet also knew her name given to her by the AIM agents who had posed as her parents. So, did a version of her exist? Perhaps a clone or cyborg or something from the first name she gave, like she was some type of property that was sentient of its creation. Seemed one thing didn’t change.
Crossing her arms, she decided to humor the woman, “Yea, the name is Carmilla Black as far as you need to know. And just for the record,” She continued, “I’m not some clone or life model decoy or whatever it is you think I am. I’m your daughter from another dimension, blood and all, thanks to your need to get Bruce Banner’s research.” The gloves were off when it came to “family” matters in this situation. She might as well lay all her cards on the table and give the woman an idea of who she was dealing with. “Which by the way, the reason I’m like I am or ended up where I am was because of your actions. Experimenting on your own daughter and expecting her to be some obedient agent for your AIM. Yea, you failed at something else in a different time and place just as it seems you failed at whatever scheme you probably were up to.”
It was uncommon for Carmilla to be so brash, crude, and talk so much. She was not like this with Otto or Scarecrow, but when it came to family...that was a whole other ballgame.
Okay...the idea of this girl being her daughter...legit offspring... was amusing. The other her probably had too much to drink. But to know who she did the nasty with...yeah...she had too much to drink and then some. It's funny if not disgusting. "...wow. With...Bruce?! Uuugh, was I in your world that desperate?" Shaking her head, she paced around, trying to cope with her slight headache. "Well...that's embarrassing. Sounds like your mother was a total failure of myself. I mean, there're easier ways to get his DNA and everything."
If there's one thing she needs to address to this brat is that Monica Rappaccini is no failure. She succeeded and accomplished more than the Avengers ever could dream. "Listen here, you. It sounds like your AIM were nothing but pathetic wannabes, but in my world, we practically ruled the country, and nearly the world. I played Bruce and his Avengers right under their noses and caused the whole world to hate and disband them by making their energy project destroy San Fransisco. AIM took down SHIELD and Stark Industries with the help of the government and Hammer Industries...then we stole their company too. With all their assets at our disposal, AIM was unstoppable, and a driving force to save all of mankind."
