Characters Appearing: Mary Jane Location (s): Inside Daily Bugle Previous Thread Name: Late for work Plot Summary: Peter arrives for his usual photo drop to Jonah...only to find the papers are under new management, and it's an unexpected person he knows.
Well that things with that...Kaine guy is something. So he's a clone of him from an alternate dimension, searching for powerful shards that may or may not have created that pink rift. He's a bit of a jerk who's just one of those clones who hates being a clone of the real person...but if he wants to prevent villains from other worlds from popping here, he might as well play ball with him...but if he's allied with Ock, then he can't make promises that he'll be a team player with him.
Anyways, Peter climbed into the window of a janitor's closet, as he sometimes do...and sometimes wonder why a closet needs a window. He pulled out his casual clothes from his bookbag and quickly changed, hoping no one will come in. Thankfully, no one did, just in time to finish and put his costume in his bag. Taking out his photos, he carefully peaked out the door, making sure no one will notice him come out of the janitor closet...
...and realize the office room looking...a little different. It's just that the ceiling looks rather low, and the walls are blue. But there's still many office desks with people hard at work typing and whatnot...but he doesn't recongize any of them. No Ned, no Betty, no Fozwell...not even Jonah, so far. He wondered if...maybe he went into the wrong room. That closet looked a little different, anyways.
Never the less, Peter walked out the closet and looked around the busy office, wondering where the elevator is so he can get to the actual office where his boss is.

hands of time
DAY AFTER DAY, LIKE A LIFETIME AWAY, I KEEP HOLDIN' ON
Mary Jane took a deep breath as she entered the building.
It was still very strange to walk amongst the many desks and not recognise a soul. She even walked past the desk that used to be hers. In truth, she was surprised The Daily Bugle was here at all, but it must have been founded somehow. Still, it was nice to have a glimmer of familiarity in a world so different from her own. Sure, it was the same New York but the New York was not as she knew it.
Luckily, word of portals and people from other dimensions was getting out, and they needed someone with first-hand experience to write about it. It was the only reason Mary Jane got the job in the first place. She had no credentials here, no passport, nothing. Just her word that she was from another dimension, a girl out of space and time. People had been sceptical at first, but then Gotham and Metropolis had appeared, and they quickly realised that this was real, and this was serious.
As she walked through the many desks to her own, she spotted a new guy near the Janitor’s closest. Her heart skipped a beat, and then dropped to her stomach. For a second, she’d thought he was Peter. But no, he was far too young, and his face was different. There were similarities, sure, but he wasn’t the guy she thought.
As she drew near, MJ gave him a smile. ”Hey there,” she began kindly. ”Are you okay? You look a little lost.”
Daily Bugle is a big building, so the office room he's well used to isn't the only room. Maybe he did went into the janitor window and---
"Huh?" He startled, afraid for a second that someone noticed him come in through the janitor's closet. He really should stop making a habit of coming in through there or people will ask questions. "I can exp---!"
And the woman...she looks...almost like Mary Jane...except, besides being an adult, with less makeup, or none at all. Now that he thought about it, he never seen Mary Jane without makeup on. She's incredibly foxy as all hell with it on, it's almost like she's from maybe Beverly Hills. Or a model, at least. She is trying to be a actress, but all actresses have to model, and MJ would kill as a....
...Okay, I'm standing there like a idiot, Parker. Focus! "Uhhh...sorry, uh...I uh....guess I am lost?" Pulling out some photos from his bag of Spider-Man saving civilians from a big traffic accident, "Um...I'm looking for Mr. Jameson. Got some photos he might want...to run Spider-Man's name down the road, as usual..." If only he didn't need to support his aunt...and that it didn't make a good cover for his identity. Why would Spider-Man work for the guy who wears libel like a tie when it comes to the Wall-Crawler?
