Characters Appearing: Blackheart, Open Location (s): Upper East side, shopping district Previous Thread Name: N/A Plot Summary: Las Vegas isn't the only place full of sin, and one demon heir decides to expand his horizons.
Greed, pleasure, ambition, desire, New York City was nothing short of having its own concentrated, convoluted air of sin. It hung like an invisible dark cloud over the city, a city full of just as much crime and darkness as Las Vegas almost, though not quite to its level. But it was enough it had drawn Blackheart to it, as well as the many sightings of heroes and other villains that seemed to be concentrated in a single location.
Perfect breeding grounds for increasing his power.
A well disguised Blackheart slowly strolled down the sidewalk, unrecognized for what his true form really was. What humans saw, or most ordinary individuals that is, was a tall toned man, dressed in a seemingly expensive business suit along with those expensive, shiny black shoes and raven black hair pulled back into a neat ponytail, sharp facial features relaxed and full of excitement. The seemingly ordinary businessman was heading to the remodeling of a long abandoned theater of sorts. Said theater had recently passed into his hands, pulling some simple manipulation to get the bank to allow him to "buy" it off them for a small price. And from where he was walking he could see many humans pausing now and again, some curious, others outraged. Not that he cared.
The young demon had his sights set on expanding his influence, creating a secondary sort of home for himself on this nexus of all portals. He himself had fallen there some months prior but had been in and out of the nexus until his run in with Wolf Spider. Much to his irritation, the hunter had snagged the piece of the Web of Destiny he had managed to commandeer and was now having to do things the old fashioned way. No matter though. He was still making use of opportunity, coming to pause at the edge of the concrete walls sectioning off the construction site.
"Ahh, its coming along splendidly!" The demon spoke with rare enthusiasm.

Peter Parker, or rather Peter W. Parker after escaping that nutcase with the metal arms and his pet clone, was now walking the streets free again! After changing into his human form and snagging some new clothes from a nearby laundromat, a black tee-shirt, and jeans he grinned slipping on a pair of sunglasses over his eyes, all four of them. Even in his human form, he had trouble keeping those bad boys undercover!
Only now, it seems like he was stuck there! That octopus guy broke his watch but he managed to take back his fragment of the web…. Well, no matter. He will find a way out of this world as soon as he was done taking out the other Spiders! After that, he can hunt down the others, and then he will be the only one left!
Now that was something he really, really REALLY looked forward to! First things first though, he had that Kaine guy to get even with for knocking him out! Maybe he will find that Cindi girl he likes so much and web her to a set of railroad tracks…or perhaps just eat her….hmm choices.
It was then he felt something ringing in his head…no tingling? His spider-sense? Odd, he hadn't felt that in years. Reaching up he placed a hand to his head.
“Huh. What danger could I be sensing? I’m the danger!!” Parker then turned with a start looking through the crowd of people but saw nothing! There was only one thing that would set off HIS spider-sense! Backing up he turned to shove his way through the onlookers making sure to knock down a child or old lady or two before running down a nearby alleyway! Stopping he placed a hand on the wall trying to calm himself.
“No way. There is no way he could be here! I made sure to run to the farthest podunk backwater dimension I could find! It’s basically space Arkansas!”
Normally, Blackheart could drown out disturbances. He especially wanted to, looking to bask in his slowly growing success in this dimension and others. It was a small victory, subtle enough to go almost unnoticed unless someone knew what to look for. But this time he felt annoyance over the angered voices nearby.
Turning, the demon prince barely had time to react before he noticed a familiar face dashing away in the crowd. A Peter Parker? Now why would he be taking off in such a hurry? For all his annoyance, Blackheart was now too curious to not find out what all the hubbub was about. Stepping back into the shadows, a portal connected to the dark dimension opened up beneath him, seeming to melt away into it before appearing on the roof tops above, no longer disguising his appearance. At this height, there was no need for it. Besides, he wanted his presence to be known as he stepped closer to the edge and spotted an individual below, recognizing the voice almost right away. It was that blasted Wolf Spider!
Chuckling darkly to himself, Blackheart teleported once more and appeared this time a little ways behind Wolf, arms crossed and presence looming. “Well, well, what are the chances of meeting your worthless hide here, hm?” The demon asked rhetorically, red eyes narrowed slightly towards the spider, arms crossed across his chest. “You didn’t think I wouldn’t notice your presence Parker?” He spat, “You really must be losing your touch.”
It was interesting really. Of all the vast multiverses, the one they would cross paths at was this unusual nexus, the one Earth that had no superhumans of its own. What were the odds? Perhaps not that low, considering most portals ended up dropping them there for whatever reason.
And all the more for Blackheart to take advantage.
Parker paused hearing a voice behind him as he turned! There he saw the rather imposing form of the very demon he had double-crossed as he smiled slightly before holding up his hands. A bead of sweat rolled down his cheek…
“Heeeey, Blackheart! Lookin’ good their buddy!” He said before a look of nausea came over his face at the sight of him. “Well, ya know, as good as can be expected…” Honestly, it was all he could do to keep from hurling. Wolf then backed up keeping his eyes out for a quick escape if he needed to, and he was sure he was going to need to!
“Let me guess, you're still miffed about me taking your watch? Well if you came to get it back I got some bad news. Some nutso scientist and his pet Spider clone sort of broke it…” He smiled awkwardly tapping his hand against his leg.
“But I know where you can find them! So why don’t you pop over there and drown them in boils or locusts or something? Ya know, real end of the world biblical stuff that you demons like to do. Because it really wasn’t my fault or nothin’." He smiled, but after quite a long awkward pause between them he nodded slowly.
"Sooo yeah… i'll just be on my way then…” He may be evil and completely insane but he still carried the Parker gene for nonstop talking as he pointing to the alleyway behind him with a thumb and continued to back up.
Still carrying the web fragment, he was not about to let that go as he slowly turned and began to hurry his way down the alley and as far away from the demon as he could! Holding his arm up he shot a web line upwards and swung out of the alley, landing on a nearby building before letting out a laugh.
Blackheart remained eerily silent as Wolf Spider began yammering already. As expected, his presence seemed to make the infamous Spider Eater nervous and uneasy, something of which gave the demon prince some satisfaction. Albeit, his irritation was not completely gone. He just kept going on and on, causing the demon to roll his eyes as he took a few steps closer, letting his mere presence do the talking. Even this Peter was a far cry from some he had faced, such as Daredevil or Wolverine, others of who had not quaked so much in his presence.
Perhaps Wolf Spider’s will wasn’t so unwavering as he made it out to be.
When Peter did mention the loss of his time watch, he gave an anger snarl, “I knew you were too careless to handle it’s power Parker. You can barely handle the mere presence of me standing before you.” He snorted in disbelief, “For such a great hunter as you claim, you still will never measure up to the more seasoned of us.” And just like that, the evil version of Spider-Man was running and web-lining himself to safety. Did he still not get what and who he was up against?
Signing, Blackheart snapped his fingers as he used his telepathy to track the twisted mind, opening another portal before he disappeared once more. Not long after Wolf had landed did three dark portals open before him, surrounding the other directions aside from the one he came and no doubt putting his spider sense into overload as three lesser demons emerged, blocking his escape routes. A fourth soon opened behind the young man, Blackheart emerging once more behind him, tail swaying behind him. “Parker, let me put this in easier terms since you don’t quite grasp your predicament: there is no escaping me in this universe. Me and you, we’re both stuck here even when you hold that piece of the Web of Destiny. Without that watch, you have no where to run, no where to hide, not forever.” The spiked demon spoke with dark baritone, stepping closer with each word, “Even you should know that by now.” Moving uncomfortably close into Wolf’s space, he leaned down from behind the mortal and whispered in his ear, “Your bad luck is only getting you a one way ticket to your own Hell on Earth.” He sneered softly before stepping back and beginning to circle Wolf Spider.
“Come now Wolf Spider, need I put it in a clearer perspective?” He inquired as he circled the man, the three demons summoned as aid awaiting their master’s orders if need be.
Wolf dusted off his hands and was about to be on his merry way when three portals opened in front of him as he winced and backed up!
“Ooohh Crapola….” Turning around he suddenly smiled holding up his hands as he transformed as Blackheart appeared behind him! His skin turned to ask gray as four long spider legs tore through his clothing. Two more sets of red glowing eyes then opened.
“Heeey Blackheart. We need to stop meeting like this! People will start to talk. But seriously, I only took the watch to scope out this world for ya buddy! I mean sure it looked like I was escaping but you know me? I get cranky when I get hungry and this world had a lot of Spider-ping.” He said backing up slightly before bumping into a demon blocking his path! Seeing that his explanation was going nowhere Wolf sighed as he folded his arms.
“Okay, I get it…” He huffed as he leaned back on the two lower legs crossing one foot over the other. “No more running off to dine alone. But can you blame me? I end up in a world with dozens of Spiders and you expect me not to take advantage of it? I hunt Spiders.. it's what ahdooo. And this world is like a giant buffet! I can't help it if I'm ALWAYS hungry!” He smirked. “…Plus there is this one really hot blond that really got my attention and…” Peter paused before clearing his throat before getting peeved.
“And don’t give me that bad luck always follows a Parker crap! I’m not like that! And I know you don’t want to get rid of me because you need me! That’s why you're dragging all those villains here right? For your little war? I've seen some of the losers you recruited. A guy dressed in a bad opera cape and some rioded out wrestler? Pftt. Please. Flash Thompson could take them on..well he would if I didn’t kill him…” Peter chuckled as he looked at his fingernails. “…Took my lunch money one too many times…” A smug look then crossed his features.
“Plus I have some really important information to share. Something you will want to heeaarrrrr. Of course, you need to ask nicely and let me hunt down the rest of the Spiders in conjunction with working for you..” As he spoke one of the demons behind him approached him before grabbing him by his shoulder and growling in his face!
Blackheart was honestly struggling to keep his composure with the blasted spider, more so with his futile attempts to get out of his present situation. A low growl and narrow eyed glare quickly put that lie to rest. That’s all Wolf Spider seemed to do well at aside from his hunting instinct. He talked and intimidated, tried to wiggle his way free of the impossible and hope that his foes might slip. Not this time. The demon had let his guard slip when he thought he could trust the wicked soul before, but he had learned his lesson. If Blackheart was getting good at anything, it was knowing when to take failure to heart and improve on what he had failed to do, which is what he was doing now.
Once more, he let Peter ramble, nodding to one of the demons closest to the young man to get a grip as he tried to back away, even barter for his release. “Hm, I will admit, you would be more useful sided with me rather than against, but given your track record Parker it’s not exactly a close and shut deal.” Blackheart responded, moving closer as his underling turned the spider to face him, coming a foot away from the more feral spider villain. “Your trustworthiness to work for me or your information is on thin ice right now.” Reaching up with blinding speed for his size, Blackheart gripped Wolf’s neck, squeezing with enough pressure to make him gag, “Although, despite your fear I do sense...some sincerity coming from the foul fanged mouth of yours.” The demon prince gave a sigh, not yet releasing his grip as he decided what to do in this present situation,
On one hand, Wolf Spider would be quite the asset to his plans. His tracking abilities, spider sense, and ruthlessness were exactly the things he needed to make some headway. But on the other...he was unfortunately the typical underhanded type, having double crossed him as it was. Shame he couldn’t imbue a hell mark like his father.
Finally releasing the pressure on the young man’s neck, Blackheart motioned with his hand for his underling to set Wolf down, staring him down as he did. “Alright Wolf Spider, lets say I do give you a second chance. You give me this information you claim to have as well as work for me, and you freely can hunt the other little spiders to your heart’s content. I care not for your personal drivel you were spouting. Do as you please so long as you to as I ask.” The black demon extended his hand, “Do we have a deal? Or must I be more forceful...” Bluish black energy began to emanate from Blackheart then, an astral hand reaching out from his body and seeming to go right through Wolf Spider, instead squeezing around the essence that made up the mortal’s very soul to emphasize his point.
Wolf’s eyes ..all of them went wide as the demon grabbed his throat! Lifting him off the ground his four additional legs flailed trying to reach for anything as he took hold of the monster’s hand trying to pry it off! Gasping for air as his feet twitched! When Blackheart gave his ultimatum, Peter nodded quickly before he was unceremoniously dropped back to the roof as he coughed rubbing his throat!
“Easy there! I need that too..like.. breathe and such!” Taking in a few ragged breathes he held onto his knees and panted. After a moment Parker stood back up gritting his teeth.
“Yeah, we have a deal. Just so long as I get to eat as many Spiders as I need! Every time I do I get that much stronger… I want to be the ONLY one left! heHehe!” He smirked evilly as one set of eyes narrowed. “In fact, ill do you one better. I’ll go round up those loser villains you brought here, keep them in line… You will need a second in command after all for this little war of yours…right?”
“As for the information? Oh, you’re gonna love this boss man. I just happen to have seen the appearance of a certain freaky blind redhead.” Wolf grinned as he slapped the hand away of the demon holding his shoulder….
“You know. The very oracle who can unravel your little plan to make it to the First Earth? The one who got away from you back on the last Earth you found her on? Yeah, seems you’re not too good at holding onto prey either…” Leaning back on his legs Parker grinned.
“If you want, I can hunt her down too. She is or was a Spider ..I think. You would be better off if she was dead. Even if you did capture her there is no way of knowing she will lead you to the First Earth, and I bet dollars to donuts she has the same idea as you. Given the fact that there are a lot of heroes running around for a world where there wasn’t supposed to be any!” He said letting out a rather unhinged chuckle. He was a Parker after all, how they did love to talk.
“Did she steal your idea? Wow, that must be so humiliating….emeehehee...” Covering his mouth it was all he could do to stifle himself as his other hand grabbed hold of his hair!
